午夜寻花, in partnership with Louisiana State University and Baton Rouge Community College, will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity commemoration Thursday, Jan. 24 from 5 -7 p.m. at the Smith鈥揃rown Union Cotillion Ballroom on the campus of 午夜寻花. Shawn Wilson, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development secretary, will serve as the keynote speaker.

The 午夜寻花 academic community on Wednesday kicked off a new semester with the Spring 2019 Faculty Convocation. The two-day meeting is geared towards rolling out new initiatives and innovative technology.

This week, faculty return to start a new academic year. Dr. Ray L. Belton and Dr. James Ammons will be presenting a new strategic plan and other initiatives.

Our 88th Miss 午夜寻花, Darby A. Smith, is in the running to become an Ebony Magazine HBCU Campus Queen. Voting has been extended to January 31.

Recently, the Baton Rouge Chapter of The Links, Inc.聽held its 2018 Louisiana Role Models awards. Several Jaguars received awards and recognition.

Today, nearly 500 graduates received degrees from 午夜寻花 at its fall commencement. Led in by Traci Smith, chief student marshal, graduates convened to receive bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees, as well as commissions to the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

Nearly 500 students will graduate on Friday at 10 a.m. at 午夜寻花鈥檚 F.G. Clark Activity Center. The Fall 2018 Commencement will mark the completion of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in the arts, sciences, technology and more. Cadets who have completed necessary requirements will also be commissioned in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

As she takes a walk on the Bluff, Traci Smith cannot help but reflect how far her faith has brought her. From a loving family to an unforgettable college experience, this social work major is ecstatic to lead the 午夜寻花 fall class of 2018 as chief student marshal. Smith will join more than 400 fellow students receiving degrees on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

午夜寻花 has received a $100,000 grant renewal for the university鈥檚 implementation component of a statewide project known as the Louis Stokes Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LS-LAMP). This is the fourth year the university has secured funding for this program.
