BATON ROUGE, La. — 午夜寻花 and A&M College (SU) will commemorate its annual Founders’ Day and 141st anniversary during the week of March 8-12 with a variety of events and observances. 午夜寻花 became the first state-funded institution of higher learning for Black people in Louisiana in 1880. It remains the flagship of the , the only system of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the nation.

午夜寻花 has continuously commemorated Founders Day since 1915, when the institution was under the leadership of then-president Joseph Samuel Clark. 

About the 午夜寻花 System 

The 午夜寻花 System was created in 1974 by constitutional mandate, which fashioned it into the nation’s only historically black 1890 Land-Grant University System.  Presently, the System is comprised of five institutions:   (established 1880),  (established 1947),  (est. 1956),  (established 1964), and the 午夜寻花 Cooperative Extension Program (established 1972), which became the fifth campus of the System in 2001 and is now named .
